AS Roma finally clinched their first European title in the Albanian capital of Tirana. After final defeats in 1984 (European Cup) and 1991 (Uefa Cup), the Italians were lucky in the newly created Conference League.

Zaniolo’s hit decisive

Nicolo Zaniolo secured the trophy for his colors against Feyenoord Rotterdam. He scored in the 32nd minute after a mistake by Gernot Trauner. The Feyenoord defender was unlucky again just after the break when he almost provoked an own goal from Gianluca Mancini. But the ball landed on the post. Roma goalie Rui Patricio deflected a shot from Tyrell Malacia to the crossbar shortly afterwards.

Roma coach José Mourinho remains unbeaten in major European finals. He has already won the Champions League (2x), the Europa League and the Uefa Cup.
