1/3-2/3 rule: This is behind the styling trick

All we need is a bit of mathematical understanding: mentally we divide our body into three parts: from shoulders to navel, from navel to knees and from knees to feet. Attention: Of course, the division can depend on the respective proportions of the person. If the body is mentally divided, it is already equipped. Important: 2/3 of the body should be occupied by a piece of clothing. The other third is taken up by another piece. It doesn’t matter whether it’s top or bottom, here the wearer decides what they particularly like. But beware: the longer the garment, the longer the respective part of the body appears.

The best part? You don’t have to go straight out and stock up on new trends. Our closet houses everything we need. Some inspiration? No problem!

Denim skirt and crop top

Is this the spring combination of the season? Denim skirts in the maxi version are more than just trendy! And: They perfectly fulfill the 2/3 part. In combination with a short-cut top, a beautiful moment results from a flowing, floor-length skirt silhouette and the short, tight-fitting piece. Loose meets tight? It ends up being particularly exciting.

Leather pants and short blazer

This look combines tradition and modernity. Black leather pants with a slim fit and elegant ankle length or in a cool loose fit can form a solid foundation for the outfit. Combined with a short blazer, for example made of knitwear, it creates a fashionable, eye-catching look that emphasizes the waist.

Short dress and long blazer

The short dress counts as a 1/3 piece here because it is covered by the 2/3 blazer. And that’s what makes the combination so exciting: the mini dress looks sexy and glamorous, giving the look a touch of it girl. Team it with a long blazer, made from a lightweight fabric like linen, and with a relaxed fit for a casual yet chic look that’s great for a stroll through town or a night out.

Oversized sweater and short skirt

A loose-fitting sweater in a neutral color like white, gray, or beige not only looks super cool, but it’s also cosy. A short skirt in colors such as black, blue or gray creates a look that is based on the minimalist style of Scandinavians. They usually rely on simple pieces of high quality and neutral colors.
