While Planet of the Apes Supremacy airs tonight on France 3, here’s everything you need to know about the 4th movie, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
A new saga begins! 5 years after the last part of the trilogy, Planet of the Apes Supremacy, by Matt Reeves, broadcast tonight on France 3, a new film in the franchise has been made.
Filming just ended last month, under the direction of Wes Ball, director in particular of Labyrinth, who shared a rather unusual video of the end of filming!
This new film, titled in VO Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, brings together Owen Teague, Freya Allan, and Peter Macon. The first official visual for the film was shared just before filming kicked off, which began last October.
According to the rare information available on the synopsis of this new component, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes should take place several years after the events of Supremacy.
“Planet of the Apes is one of the most iconic science fiction sagas in the history of cinema. It is also part of the indelible works of the history of our studio”, said Steve Asbell, president of 20th Century Studios.

Adapted from the science fiction novel by French writer Pierre Boulle published in 1963, the first film directed by Franklin J. Schaffner and carried by Charlton Heston was released in 1968 and became one of the biggest successes of the year, winning an honorary Oscar for Best Makeup.
To date, the franchise has grossed 1.7 billion greenbacks worldwide. With Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Disney will aim to relaunch the successful saga.
The release of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is already dated May 22, 2024.
