On the occasion of the broadcast of “Les Nouvelles Aventures de Cendrillon” on NRJ 12, we take stock of Josiane Balasko’s next projects.
A popular actress with 100 films and a 53-year career, Josiane Balasko has won 3 Césars (for best screenplay for Gazon maudit in 1996, an honorary César in 2000, then an anniversary César with the Splendid troupe in 2021.
On the occasion of the broadcast of The New Adventures of Cinderella on NRJ 12, we take stock of her next projects.
Reunion with François Ozon
Josiane Balasko will be in the casting of François Ozon’s new film, When Autumn Comes. She will share the bill with Hélène Vincent, Ludivine Sagnier and Pierre Lottin.
Michelle is enjoying a peaceful retirement in a charming Burgundian village with her long-time friend, Marie-Claude. She looks forward to her grandson Lucas spending the school holidays with her, but things don’t go as planned.
The release date is not yet known. The actress had already shot for François Ozon in the film Grace à Dieu.
A spy comedy with Ramzy and Audrey Fleurot
Josiane Balasko is also expected in the comedy Mission Véga, written by Philippe Mechelen and Julien Hervé (screenwriters of Tuche) and directed by Christophe Offenstein. In the cast, Ramzy Bedia and Audrey Fleurot.
The pitch? Boumir Perdozan (Ramzy), only son of the formidable dictator of Morduria, is a dangerous tyrant in life, but also an unconditional fan of Karine Véga, the former glory of French song, who performed the hit “Kiss My Heart » at the beginning of the 2000s. When the latter is invited by Boumir for a private concert in his villa in the South of France, the DGSE takes advantage of the opportunity to infiltrate a secret agent in the musical group, and try to recover certain “sensitive” information. But the best French field agents suddenly find themselves in short supply, and the DGSE is forced to send Yannick Dupuis, their sleazy and cowardly computer scientist, on a mission…
What about a Bronzés 4?
Could we hope for a return of the Bronzés? For all those hoping for an episode of Les Bronzés 4, Michel Blanc indicates that it would be without him if the project were to happen. “No, I won’t participate, it’s over. This is just my opinion, be careful!“, in an interview for Le JDD dating from October 2023.

And added: “That would be hitting the wall. First of all, I’m not crazy about 3, so 4 is not possible. At our age, we would seem to be hanging on to the branches. Jean-Claude Dusse, the public has it at will, because the films are constantly on TV. I am no longer him physically, morally, or artistically.“
Towards a new sequel after Return to my mother and A trip to my daughter?
In 2016, Eric Lavaine brought together in front of his camera Josiane BalaskoAlexandra Lamy and Mathilde Seigner for the comedy Return to my mother, broadcast this evening on TMC.
This comedy sees Stéphanie, 40, forced to return to live with her mother Jacqueline. If she is welcomed with open arms, each person will have to show infinite patience to support this new life together.
And when the rest of the siblings arrive for a dinner, score-settling and family secrets will be unleashed in the most jubilant way.
The film was a box office success and attracted 2.2 million spectators to French cinemas. Pathé therefore announces a sequel, still directed and written by Eric Lavaine and Héctor Cabello Reyes.
Released in June 2021, A Tour Chez My Daughter reverses the roles. Except that this time, Jacqueline moves in with Carole, her other daughter played by Mathilde Seigner since Alexandra Lamy is not in the casting of the sequel.
The director explains that in the original script, Jacqueline was going to move in with Stéphanie, but Alexandra Lamy warned him about the rehearsal.

Why is Alexandra Lamy not in the sequel?
“In the first version of the script, the mother moved in with Stéphanie“, says the director. “Alexandra Lamy immediately warned me that we risked remaking the same film as the previous one, namely the confrontation between the mother and her favorite daughter.
So it was Alexandra who suggested to me that it would be more interesting if the mother moved in with Carole, her other daughter, with whom she has the least affinity. As a result, this considerably reduced Alexandra’s score and we said to ourselves that the best thing was to send her to Brazil. With Alexandra, we will meet again for a next film.”
But the film only attracted 402,103 spectators to theaters. It must be said that A Tour Chez My Daughter was released just after the Covid-19 pandemic when Jean Castex had just lifted the curfew. Period during which older spectators, the film’s target audience, were less inclined to go to the cinema.

Is a third film planned?
A third part to the adventures of Jacqueline, Stéphanie and Carole is therefore, to date, not envisaged although the sequel will introduce a third generation into the family. Line Renaud in fact plays the mother of Josiane Balasko’s character. A third opus could therefore very well have seen the light of day.
