Gerlos Straße (B165) in Tyrol (Schwaz district) was buried on Saturday night. A landslide had occurred at Gmünd, the road had to be closed between Gmünd and Gerlos, the ÖAMTC reported in a broadcast. The clean-up work was in full swing on the night of Pentecost Sunday. It was not known when the road would reopen to traffic.
The interruption of the direct connection between Zell am Ziller in Tirol and Mittersill in Salzburg means a long detour. According to the club, the only alternative via the Zillertal (B169), A12 and Pass Thurn (B161) means a detour of more than 100 kilometers.
