Anyone who suffers serious side effects from the corona vaccination can request compensation from the federal government. And that’s exactly what around 100 people have done so far by the end of November. This was confirmed by the Federal Department of Home Affairs (EDI) at the request of “Aargauer Zeitung”.
The people affected are demanding compensation from the federal government for serious damage caused by the Covid vaccination. Migraines with visual disturbances or thrombosis in the eye were claimed.
The requests also included side effects such as fever or fatigue, says an EDI spokeswoman for “AZ”. It has often been demanded that the federal government pay for visits to the doctor, for example. The Interior Department emphasizes, however, that such costs should be borne by yourself.
No application approved so far
Otherwise, no application for compensation or damages has been approved so far. According to the authorities, all applications failed due to formal criteria. For example, people submitted an application for compensation after vaccination damage without it having been examined by a doctor beforehand, or there was a lack of information on financial compensation that had already been received.
Before people with vaccination damage can contact the federal government, their application for compensation must have already been rejected elsewhere – for example with the vaccine manufacturer or the health insurance company.
Broad-based corona study: These are the most common vaccine side effects(00:55)
Around 270 suspected cases of heart problems
To date, around 14.6 million vaccine doses have been injected in Switzerland. There were always side effects. By mid-December, Swissmedic had evaluated 10,842 suspected cases of side effects, a third of which were classified as “severe”.
“Serious” suspected cases are cases in which the corona vaccination could lead to life-threatening complications or the everyday life of the vaccinated person is impaired in the long term, for example in the case of heart muscle inflammation. To date, Swissmedic has registered 267 suspected cases in this direction. However, most people have already recovered. (zis)
