There were changes to be expected from the side of 100 Thieves. The team had lost 2 elements and the leaders were looking for a revival after a half-fig, half-reasonable 2021 year. They were looking for a European talent to try this time to qualify for the World Championships.

North America is a famous region in the world of esports. Renowned for having big resources, America has no qualms about poaching and recruiting right and left in order to strengthen its own teams. The phenomenon is not new and we have already observed it on League of Legends or CS:GO. There is no reason for Valorant to miss out and 100 Thieves continued the tradition by announcing its roster for 2022. After the departures of nitr0 and seven, there was a need for new blood and the leaders decided to dig a little in Europe.
Two recruits with an attractive profile
100 Thieves did not recruit just anyone and the two newcomers arrive with a rather well-filled CV. The American Hunter”BabyJ“Schline made the heyday of FaZe Clan and he is known for his explosive style of play. But on our side, we will especially follow the first steps of the 21-year-old Briton Adam “ec1s” Eccles. Present on the competitive scene since 2020 (fish123), he worked for big teams from the old continent such as Team Liquid and NIP. Success has not always been there, but his potential is undeniable. Difficult not to be frustrated to see him cross the Atlantic Ocean.
100 Thieves participated in two Majors in 2021. The team is consistently among the top teams in North America, but it has yet to move on internationally. In this context, we imagine that opening up to the outside world by recruiting Europeans can be a good strategy.
