According to its own information, it is the “largest ID.Buzz Cargo fleet in Switzerland” and one of the largest electric commercial vehicle fleets in Switzerland, which Helion put into operation in one fell swoop.

Until the changeover date, Helion’s one hundred technicians drove to their clients in conventional vans. Last Monday there was a big swap event together with fleet provider Movon and the employees took the VW ID. Buzz Cargo received as a new company car.

The company produces the electricity for the electric vehicle fleet itself. Helion therefore sees the company’s own fitters as a kind of ambassadors who are supposed to promote the energy transition throughout Switzerland. The use of the electric fleet is expected to save around 300 tons of CO2 emissions annually.

“By converting our commercial vehicle fleet to electric, we are further advancing the energy transition within the company. We helionauts will overcome the challenges together. As of today, around 100 of our mechanics from all over Switzerland are on the road using electricity and therefore also as ambassadors of our vision and for the energy transition,” the company said in a statement.

Numerous Helion locations were equipped with appropriate charging infrastructure in advance. According to Helion, the typical operational radius of fleet vehicles is a maximum of 100 kilometers. The range (WLTP) of the VW ID.Buzz Cargo is given as 427 kilometers. You can read further reports from the field of electromobility here.
