1:1 on the Pontaise – No winner in the Vaud derby – Sport

November 1, 2014: Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy welcomes Yverdon in the 1st League Classic, the first time ever that the two Vaud teams meet in a competitive game. The result in front of 240 fans: 1:1. Almost nine years later, the 19th duel between the two teams took place – for the first time at the highest level. The number of spectators at the Pontaise was significantly higher at 2,350, but the result remained the same.

The home team deserved the win more. The Lausanne team were already superior in the first half, but were unable to take advantage of their few chances to score. PSG loanee Ismael Gharbi in particular was a steady asset, but was too imprecise in the end.

Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy took a cold shower

Yverdon got off to an optimal start in the second round. After just 63 seconds they were able to celebrate the opening goal. Varol Tasar plucked a perfect pass from Aimen Mahious out of the air, put the ball in front of him a little and then gave goalie Dany Da Silva no chance. A stroke of genius from the German, who scored his fourth goal of the season.

The beautiful opening goal was also the guests’ last offensive action, and from now on SLO pressed for the equalizer. This came after 81 minutes: Gharbi circled a corner very close to the goal, where central defender Sahmkou Camara was able to head it in without any problems. That deserved 1:1, which also secured the final score.

Rough game

The game was played hard from the start, with both teams not being sparing with fouls. Referee Mirel Turkes had to pull out a yellow card a total of 10 times, including showing it to Yverdon coach Marco Schällibaum. However, after the warnings, the players held back – there was no expulsion.

This is how it goes
