Maserati, the Italian brand with the trident, presented its electrification plan and announced a 41% increase in sales for the 2021 financial year.

Maserati will launch three electric cars in 2023, allowing Stellantis to claim a manufacturer with a fully electrified range as early as 2025.

The flagship of the electric range, dubbed Folgore, will be a 1,200hp Maserati Gran Turismo coupe due to be unveiled later this year before hitting the roads in 2023. Maserati said it “will offer technical solutions directly derived from Formula E, superb performance, comfort and elegance typical of the trident”. The automaker adds that the 0 to 100 km / h will be shot in less than 3 s and that the top speed will approach 300 km / h. A convertible version should be marketed in stride.

The new Maserati Grecale SUV, whose production has been postponed and which will be presented soon, will be born first in a thermal version, but a hybrid version and an electric version are planned from next year. The Maserati Levante SUV, which accounted for 59% of sales, will also go electric, but after 2023, as will the Maserati MC20 Supercar and the new Quattroporte sedan.

The manufacturer specifies that although the Ghibli represented a third of sales in 2021, it will not be taken into account in its future plans. Even if the retirement has not officially sounded, its start of production dates all the same from 2013.

Finally, Maserati confirms its good health with a 41% increase in sales for 2021. Its global market share is 2.4% and net sales amounted to 2.02 billion euros.
