125th anniversary – The musicians braved the rainy weather

The traditional music band St. Veit celebrated the start of their 125th anniversary on Corpus Christi.

That so many people come on the first day of the festival. I didn’t expect that.” Chairman of the St. Veit traditional costume band, Christian Jetzbacher, is delighted with the successful start of the Corpus Christi anniversary celebrations. “After the Corona break, everyone is obviously happy to be back here,” says the musician. Despite the bad weather forecast, hundreds of people from St. Veit celebrated on Thursday in the marquee behind the church. On Saturday, 31 clubs meet. The St. Veit musicians started the annual Corpus Christi procession in the morning. Then it was off to the marquee for beer, fries and chicken. There, the St. Veiter met the Pöham music association, which they had invited for the musical entertainment. The Siglbauer family with Tobias (7) and Anna-Sophia (2) also enjoyed music and tradition. “On Saturday we play several pieces of music together. We’re all really looking forward to it,” says Jetzbacher. 31 clubs, including 21 music groups, will then meet at the market square and let the instruments sound together.
