In a column published by the Journal du Dimanche on July 16, many personalities denounced the attitude of Minister Caroline Cayeux, who had affirmed her opposition to marriage between people of the same sex by calling them… “All these people- the”.
The Macron government is at the center of a new controversy. And not just any since it affects a very particular class of our society: gay people. This case, which has only just resurfaced, dates back to 2013. At the time, Caroline Cayeux was a senator and defended a bill against marriage for all and the adoption of children by homosexual couples. Returning to her speech, she went so far as to call them … “All those people”this Tuesday, July 12.
These remarks, which totally lack respect for this segment of the population, came out to create a big controversy. So many French personalities have decided to break the silence in a column published by the Journal du Dimanche on July 16. This virulent tribune was notably signed by Alex Goude, Jack Lang, Nelson Monfort or even Christophe Beaugrand.
After the yellow vests, a new controversy strikes the Macron government
“How to accept the remarks made by the Minister in charge of Territorial Communities, on the eve of the national holiday? How to accept that a member of the executive, whose primary role is to ensure the application of the laws, can call ‘these people’ French citizens? How not to see that, in his mind, they do not belong to the same category of citizens? We are proud of all those who, by their dignified and discreet attitude, know serve the Republic better than her“, were offended by the 129 signatories on the platform. Suffice to say that the controversy is not over for the Macron government. After the yellow vests, it is now homosexual people who feel denigrated.
