- Although the summer holidays in Switzerland are over, cars are jammed in front of the Gotthard tunnel on Saturday.
- After 2:00 p.m., the convoy in the southbound direction had grown to a length of 13 kilometers.
- According to SRF traffic and the TCS, a loss of time of up to two hours and ten minutes can be expected.
There is also traffic jams in the opposite direction: Between Faido (TI) and Airolo (TI) traffic has backed up over six kilometers. The loss of time is now up to an hour.
Shortly before 12 noon, the TCS also reported via Twitter that the Gotthard tunnel had been temporarily closed in both directions. The reason for this was a breakdown vehicle. The A13 via the San Bernardino tunnel is recommended as an alternative route.
