Why use a car when you have a super-fast electric skateboard on hand?! This is the question we can ask ourselves when faced with the breathtaking performance of this board like no other.

Indeed, a unique model has managed to exceed the bar of 132 km / h.

A shattered record

Electric skateboards are gaining popularity over the years. Like scooters, they stand out as a real means of urban locomotion. These machines are compact, light and above all extremely stable thanks to their four wheels. The skates in question can also reach quite phenomenal top speeds… And this new record proves it.

An Australian engineer named Raine Kent has come up with an incredibly capable board. This tailor-made model managed to climb up to 132.37 km/h, which shattered the previous record set at 95 km/h. Of course, the pilot of the machine wore a racing helmet and a special suit to protect himself as much as possible. A test that Kent found ” scary but exciting (we understand).

A well-thought-out feat!

To achieve such a feat, the engineer did not do things by halves. In particular, he patented the design of the motors built especially for this famous skateboard. Kent has also revised the angle of the trucks of his board to reduce the phenomenon of oscillations. This occurs when too high a speed is reached. The electric skateboard can then begin to oscillate dangerously, which usually leads to an accident. An unenviable situation when traveling at more than 132 km/h.

It is essential to specify that this model is not available for sale. Via his company known as Raith, Raine Kent still sells units that can go up to 130 km/h for the most seasoned pilots. Other more classic electric skateboards reach 60 km/h… Which is still very fast!
