Designed by the Porsche Design studio, the AOC Agon Pro PD32M monitor features a 32-inch IPS panel displaying Ultra HD definition and supporting a native frequency of 144 Hz. It is distinguished by the integration of a Mini-Led backlighting system on 1152 zones and brightness up to 1400 cd/m².

On paper, the Porsche Design AOC Agon Pro PD32M monitor is flawless. It features a 32-inch IPS panel displaying an Ultra HD definition of 3840 x 2160 pixels and supporting a native frequency of 144 Hz. The panel is FreeSync / AdaptiveSync compatible between 48 and 144 Hz for a tear-free display of the image.

The manufacturer advertises a 1ms response time, 178° viewing angles, 122% coverage of DCI-P3, 131% of Adobe RGB and 156% of sRGB as well as a native contrast of 1000. This latter can be greatly improved by the backlighting system using several thousand mini-LEDs distributed over 1152 zones, a record number for a PC monitor which should make it possible to limit the effect of blooming (halo around light objects on a dark background). The perceived contrast should therefore be excellent, well above the 1000:1 ratio of the IPS panel. In addition, AOC announces a maximum brightness of 1400 cd / m², this is again a record on a PC monitor since until now, the best HDR monitors were limited to a peak brightness of 1000 cd / m² like the AOC Agon Pro AG274QXM. This brightness peak combined with a dynamic backlighting system should result in a beautiful rendering for HDR content with deep blacks and vivid speculars.

In terms of ergonomics, it is also flawless since the foot is adjustable in height over 15 cm, in inclination between -5 and +21 °, in rotation over ±30 ° and that it even has a pivot. to switch to portrait mode.

The connection is complete with two HDMI 2.1 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC), a USB-C port delivering 90 W, four USB 3.2 ports supporting the KVM function (keyboard-mouse switch between different sources) and a headphone output. The monitor also has two 8W speakers and an RGB lighting system on the back for the “key”gaming“. Supplied with HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C cables, the monitor measures 61.3 x 39.9~52.9 x 22.7 cm and weighs 11.5 kg.

The Porsche Design AOC Agon Pro PD32M seems to tick all the boxes of the dream monitor, which can suit video game enthusiasts on consoles and PCs as well as movie and series enthusiasts looking for good performance in HDR. Now remains to be seen if the calibration is up to par, but with a selling price of around €2000, we hope that this high-end monitor will be very well calibrated right out of the box.

Ultra HD 144 Hz monitors are still very expensive, since the 32-inch Ultra HD models are not less than 800 € (GIGABYTE M32U-EK); prices often exceed €1,000, even for smaller models such as the excellent Asus TUF VG28UQL1A with its 28-inch panel, billed at nearly €900.
