14th round of the Super League – After a goal in the starting minute: No winner in the promoted duel – Sport

With 16 and 15 points respectively before the 14th matchday, both Yverdon and Lausanne-Sport were in the middle of the table on the one hand, but close to each other on the other. Even after the direct duel between the two promoted teams, nothing changed: in the 2-2 draw at Yverdon’s Stade Municipal, the teams showed that they are on equal terms.

Nevertheless, the game could have tipped one way or the other in the final minutes. After a long, uneventful second half, the teams still looked for the winning goal in the final minutes. But both Kaly Sène (87th) for Lausanne-Sport and Kevin Carlos (93rd) for Yverdon missed this one.

Spectacle in half time 1

The game started with a bang. After just half a minute the home team was already in the lead. A bad pass from Olivier Custodio landed at Varol Tasar. The German grabbed the ball and humorlessly moved towards the penalty area, where he scored the first goal with the first shot on goal of the game.

The guests were initially a little impressed by this, but then hit back even more violently. It was top scorer Sène who turned things around with two goals before the break. First he used a free-standing cross (33′), then he scored with a penalty (39′). The penalty whistle was harsh but justifiable. With seven new goals this season, he moves to the top of the top scorers rankings.

The fourth and final goal of the game also came before the break. In injury time of the first half, Carlos headed in a cross – 2-2. When the score was still 1-0, he missed a goal when he hit the crossbar after a nice solo effort.

Yverdon still without a win

Coach Alessandro Mangiarratti didn’t manage to win at the home premiere either. His team is now waiting five championship games for a complete success. Lausanne, on the other hand, has suffered a small setback after last week’s 3-1 win against Lugano.

This is how it goes

Time out for the Super League teams: The national team break is coming up. In two weeks Yverdon will host FC Lugano (live on SRF from 8:30 p.m.). Lausanne-Sport meets Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy in the city derby on Sunday (from 2:15 p.m.).
