On Tuesday morning, police officers in Vienna-Hernals wanted to stop the 15-year-old for a routine traffic check as part of their patrol service. However, he ignored all the stop signs and raced away at high speed in the direction of Döbling. But instead of stopping, he tried to drive around the patrol car, lost control of the car, drove into a light pole and then into a parked car. All three people in the Audi A4 were initially seriously injured. The police immediately provided first aid. The 15-year-old died a little later from his injuries. He did not have a driver’s license. License plates were reported as stolen. The other two young people (16 and 17) were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. One is currently in mortal danger. The traffic accident squad took over the investigation. According to current investigations, the vehicle should not be registered for traffic and the number plates mounted on the vehicle should have been reported as stolen.
