A series, new adaptation of Eragon, is in development at Disney +, after the 2006 film with Jeremy Irons and Rachel Weisz
According to our colleagues from variety, a television series adaptation of Eragon is currently in preparation at Disney+. She focuses on The Inheritance Cycle (The Legacy in French) Christopher Paolini’s series of young adult novels, which began publication in 2003.
Christopher Paolini himself will be the co-creator of the series, which picks up the events unfolded in Eragonthe first book of the cycle The Legacy. Book that Paolini wrote when he was only 15 years old and which was published four years later. A film adapted from the work of Paolini, with Ed Speleers in the role of Eragon (and with Jeremy Irons, Rachel Weisz…), was released in 2006 but was badly received by critics and had failed at the box- global office.
Eragon tells the story of a farm boy who discovers a dragon egg in the mountains. In bookstores, the book was a phenomenal success becoming the third best-selling children’s book of 2003 in the United States and the second best-selling paperback of 2005. It is considered one of the best-selling fantasy books for young people. most influential adults of the past 20 years.
