Powerful chip, colossal battery, ultra-fast charging, large bright screen, very high definition periscope telephoto lens… the technical sheet of the Honor Magic 6 Pro is impressive.

The Honor Magic 6 Pro is official. The Chinese brand has announced the successor to its Magic 5 Pro, a high-end oriented smartphone which presents itself as a serious competitor to the Galaxy S24 and Xiaomi 14, among others.

Huge battery and ultra-bright screen

The Honor Magic 6 Pro is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC from Qualcomm, the most powerful chip at the moment, outside of Apple of course. It also has an impressive 5,600 mAh battery, which should ensure good battery life for the device. The charging power reaches 80 W wired and 66 W induction.

The smartphone also stands out for the integration of a large 6.8-inch curved LTPO OLED panel. The display offers a definition of 2,800 x 1,280 pixels and a refresh rate which automatically varies between 1 and 120 Hz depending on the content displayed. Honor promises peak brightness at 5,000 nits.

At the front, there is a large punch housing two optics, but this is moved from the upper left corner to the axis of the screen. Behind, the design of the photo block has been redesigned to further improve its aesthetics.

A 180 MP periscope telephoto lens

The Honor Magic 6 Pro’s photo configuration is based on a 1/1.3-inch 50 MP main sensor with variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/2.0 and optical stabilization. It is accompanied by a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle and f/2.0 aperture.

It is especially its periscope telephoto lens that stands out, since we are dealing with a 1/1.49 inch 180 MP sensor and f/2.6 aperture. This offers optical zoom up to 2.5x and digital zoom up to 100x. Honor has undoubtedly opted for a 180 MP definition on this lens to offer a powerful zoom without seeing too much loss of detail.

The device is launched in China and should appear in Europe around spring. The 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage version costs 5,699 yuan (800 euros). The 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal memory variant is priced at 6,699 yuan (940 euros). As usual, you should expect higher prices in France.
