- The Zurich police arrested 19 young people in Stäfa and at Zurich Tiefenbrunnen train station during the night.

Shortly after midnight, a report was received that a group of young people were harassing a bus driver at Stäfa train station, said Zurich cantonal police. When the first patrols arrived at the station, according to the police, around 20 young people had switched to the S16 and were blocking the train’s departure.
The rioters entered the tracks and threw stones at the emergency services.
When police officers carried out checks, they were attacked by the young people, according to the statement: “The rioters entered the tracks and threw stones at the emergency services.” Police used pepper spray and arrested four people.
At around 1:20 a.m. the S16 – with a group of young people on board – set off. The police had the train stopped at Zurich Tiefenbrunnen station in consultation with the SBB. 15 young people were arrested there. The total of 19 arrested come from Switzerland, Italy, Somalia and the Czech Republic. You will be referred to the youth attorney’s office.
