Inter Milan are Italian champions for the 20th time. The “Nerazzurri” beat AC Milan 2-1 in the derby.

In the derby against AC Milan, Francesco Acerbi set the course for victory after just 18 minutes. The central defender easily headed a corner taken by Benjamin Pavard into the net to make it 1-0. Shortly after the break, Inter doubled. Marcus Thuram finished on the edge of the penalty area and increased the score to 2-0 (49′).
As a result, little came from the “Rossoneri” to put Inter in serious trouble and prevent them from winning the title prematurely. Goalie Yann Sommer, who had to intervene once in the first half, made a strong save against Theo Hernandez a few minutes after the 2-0 win.

But with 10 minutes to go, things suddenly got exciting again. Sommer initially made a strong save on a shot, but the rebound landed at Fikayo Tomori. He scored with a header to make it 1:2. From then on, AC Milan, where Noah Okafor had come into the game 3 minutes before the goal, started running.
The Swiss was also no longer able to defeat his Nati teammate. Sommer missed his 18th game without conceding a goal this season – but that won’t matter to the 35-year-old. The celebrations shortly before the final whistle were marred by pack formations and violence. AC Milan’s Hernandez and Davide Calabria and Inter’s Denzel Dumfries were sent off as a result of the clashes.
But even the sending offs didn’t change the outcome of the game. Thanks to the victory, Inter Milan are already confirmed as Italian champions with 5 rounds to go. They secured their 20th “Scudetto” with a derby win, of all things. With only one defeat after 33 match days, this is well deserved.
