2 Korean dramas to watch on Netflix in April 2024

This April, the k-dramas to watch on Netflix oscillate between gory science fiction and hilarious romantic comedy.

The month of March, which had just ended, delivered the final episodes ofTo the great evils and of The Intrigue and the King. In April 2024, the program will be a little less dense than at the start of the year, with only two k-dramas to get your teeth into. Some dramas announced for this year and highly anticipated, such as Hierarchy, Good Bye Earthor season 3 of Sweet Homedo not yet have a release date.

Parasyte: The Gray

The Korean event of the month is undoubtedly to be found near Parasyte: The Gray. In this particularly gory science fiction series, adapted from the best-selling manga Parasyte by Hitoshi Iwaaki, a young woman is transformed into a host by a mysterious creature. But Su-in (played by Jeon So-nee), will only be the first of a threat that will spread and endanger all of humanity. It’s a work by Yeon Sang-ho, the director of the award-winning zombie film Last train to Busan. Unlike the manga, the Netflix series is set in South Korea – it is also not in the continuity of the anime (Parasyte: The Maximalso on Netflix).

All 6 episodes will be available this Friday April 5, 2024.

The Queen of Tears

Among the weekly broadcast k-dramas on Netflix, The Queen of Tears is the only one to follow this month. It is about the tribulations of the couple formed by Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-won), a rich heiress to a large chain of stores, and Baek Hyun-woo (played by Kim Soo-hyun), a native from a much more modest social background. Their relationship, initially idyllic, turns sour: can love be reborn?

Already eight chapters have been broadcast, and the series of 16 episodes will end on April 28. Throughout the month, two episodes will be posted online each weekend, on Saturdays and Sundays. To fill the gap at the end of the series, you can catch up on other k-dramas of the same genre, like Business Proposalwhich is also located in the world of work, or My Demon And The Empire of Smiles if you’re looking for stories about heirs.
