The Spanish firm Nerva is now offering its Exe electric scooter for sale. But the objective is not to offer “one more” in an already very competitive market.

Indeed, Nerva relies in particular on a range of up to 150 km and peaks at 125 km / h to distinguish itself.

3 driving modes to adapt to all environments

The Exe model from Nerva enters the electric scooter market as a maxi-scooter. The Spanish firm offers a product primarily based on versatility, and not just for mainly urban use. In fact, the data sheet of the Nerve Exe reveals three potential driving modes.

The first, called “Normal”, is intended for all types of use on the road by limiting the speed to 80 km/h and offering an average range of 115 km. The second, named “Eco”, provides a maximum speed of 50 km/h and an increased range of 150 km, ideal for the city. Finally, for a journey involving, for example, a section of motorway, the “Sport” mode, centered on performance, makes it possible to reach peaks at 125 km/h, but the autonomy is limited to around 75 km.

To achieve such a result with a scooter still weighing 202 kg, Nerva has equipped its machine with a 9 kW engine, capable of peaks at 12.1 kW, the equivalent of a 125 cc. It is thus capable of accelerating from 0 to 50 km/h in 4.5 seconds, and from 0 to 80 km/h in 10.5 seconds.

A final price complicated to evaluate

On the autonomy side, the two battery packs (5.76 kWh) offer honorable results while still requiring 3:30 hours for an 80% recharge, and 4:20 hours if you want to reach 100% while being plugged into a household outlet. A charger, with a power of 1.8 kW, is integrated. These lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) packs, manufactured by BYD, have the advantage of degrading less quickly than lithium-ion batteries as well as offering better thermal stability.

Moreover, Nerva offers you the option of a five-year battery rental contract, the life expectancy of which is estimated at 6,000 cycles of 90 km, or approximately 540,000 km according to the firm. Then make way for the circular economy, since after a maximum of five years, these batteries, in partnership with the EKI Foundation, are recycled as a photovoltaic electricity storage system and reinstalled in developing countries.

The battery is also the parameter to be taken into account in the final price of the product. Indeed, Nerva announces a minimum price of 3,380 euros by opting for the rental of the battery for five years and obtaining an ecological bonus according to the Spanish methods. The individual price of this rental is announced at 39.99 euros per month (VAT included) with an all-risk guarantee included, which therefore makes 2399.40 euros for five years. To obtain a concrete price in France, it will therefore be necessary to wait a little longer.
