"2020 – Gottschalk will catch up" focuses on everything that has failed due to Corona: cultural events, sports competitions, weddings.

British superstar Robbie Williams (46, "Angels") is one of the star guests in Thomas Gottschalk's (70, "Herbstbunt") unusual TV show "2020 – Gottschalk catches up", as the SWR announced on Wednesday. The musician will talk to the host about 2020, Corona and unusual concerts via switch. The singer also starts his song "Can't Stop Christmas".

There will also be other cultural events, sports competitions, weddings and much more that should have taken place in the past year but had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic. "In his show for the 'failed year', the show master welcomes prominent and non-prominent people who have interesting and emotional stories to tell about their personal failures and cancellations in 2020," says the broadcaster.

"I'm a guy who tries to straighten things out," explains Thomas Gottschalk himself: "I'm trying, so to speak, at the last minute, before the year comes to an end, to turn things around a little."

Illustrious crowd

Some unusual events, shows and sporting events are made up in the studio. Many surprises with national and international stars are also on the program. The audience can look forward to the musicians David Garrett (40), Lang Lang (38) and Peter Maffay (71), model Toni Garrn (28), Karl May games star Alexander Klaws (37), star Chef Johann Lafer (63) and three young yodelers.

Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (40) provides another highlight: he simply relocates the "Open House of the Federal Government" to the studio and answers questions from citizens via video.

"2020 – Gottschalk catches it up" (SWR) will be broadcast on December 21st at 8:15 pm on Erste.
