Three days before the start of the 2022 Football World Cup, the Blues woke up for the first time under the Qatari sun. Before entering the fray on Tuesday, with a first match against Australia, the challenge lies first in adapting to the temperatures in Doha.
The French therefore spent their first night in Doha, protected by the high walls of their Al Messila hotel complex, and by discreet but reinforced security. Doha, a sprawling city with countless fast, ultra-wide, American-style lanes and which is hosting the football World Cup for the first time. But twenty minutes by coach will be enough to reach the training center this Thursday afternoon and start the Qatari adventure. On the program: a press conference with Olivier Giroud, at 3 p.m. French time, then training in a temperature that will exceed 30 degrees.
The Blues eagerly awaited by fans
The beginnings of the Blues will therefore be marked by the heat, high humidity but also the fervor in the crowded alleys of the Doha souk. On the cornice, where you can admire the famous Skyline of multicolored skyscrapers, Sassi and Moese, two Tunisian expatriates, confide their love for the France team. The two friends are looking forward to the stars of Les Bleus.
“We have good relations between France and Tunisia. Tunisia or France as winners, it’s the same thing. I really like the French team, they play well. There is Karim Benzema and especially Kylian Mbappé!”, they detail, playful. Tunisia will also play against France on 30 November.
