2023 Sony World Photography Awards Announce National Winners


In 2023, the Sony World Photography Awards claim the participation of photographers from 200 nations and 415,000 photos sent. For the National Awards, no less than 55 countries were represented. For France, it was Samia Berbiche who was named the winner by the members of the jury. Her picture Old Car Full of Flowersfeaturing a woman in an old car surrounded by flowers, was taken in Mexico City in April 2022. The image is also competing in the Portrait category of the Open competition.

The shot was captured with a Fujifilm mirrorless equipped with the Fujinon XF 50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR. With this first trophy, Samia Berbiche receives a batch of Sony equipment and will be presented at the London exhibition of the Sony World Photography Awards, from April 14 to May 1, 2023. The international results of the competition will be announced on April 13, 2023.
