The National Rally, in the event of victory in the legislative elections and accession to power, intends to accelerate the procedures for executing OQTFs. Overall, France only manages to expel a small minority of foreigners subject to this obligation.

This is one of the priorities of the National Rally if it comes to power. The party with the flame intends to speed up the procedures for executing the OQTF, these famous obligations to leave the territory. To carry out its project, the RN wishes to restart discussions with the countries of origin from scratch, as promised by the vice-president of the party Sébastien Chenu.

“We are going to tell them: ‘the reduction in visas will be achieved if you do not take back your foreign nationals who are subject to the OQTF obligation’. We are going to tell these countries: ‘We can continue to help you, but, on the other hand, you must assume your obligation to take back your nationals,” he declared this Thursday on BFMTV.

Review the Franco-Algerian agreement

Another measure, which specifically concerns Algerian nationals: the revision of the Franco-Algerian agreement of 1968, a text which provides for exceptional rules in favor of citizens of this country. Last year, for example, France issued more than 32,000 new residence permits to Algerians while, at the same time, Algiers is still struggling to take back its delinquent nationals.

According to a recent report from the Court of Auditors, overall, France only manages to expel a small minority of foreigners subject to an obligation to leave the territory, around one person in ten.
