Lhe presidential campaign for 2024 is launched among the Republicans. And the first candidate to challenge Donald Trump is a candidate: Nikki Haley, his former ambassador to the UN and former governor of South Carolina, will launch on February 15, according to The Post and Courierlocal journal.

The daughter of Indian immigrants, a Sikh convert to Christianity, Haley was a representative in the South Carolina Chamber. In 2010, she became the first female governor there, elected thanks to the Tea Party, the ultra-conservative fringe of the Republican Party. She had campaigned on reducing taxes and the role of government and had been dubbed by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
