The FIS and Swiss-Ski are trying to prevent further escalation regarding the contract for the organization of the 2027 World Cup in Crans-Montana. At the regular meeting of the FIS Board, it was decided that all parties should find a solution in a timely manner that would comply with all obligations required for the event to be held.

“Swiss-Ski and the World Cup Organizing Committee are pleased that the basis for an early solution and signing of the hosting agreement has been restored,” said Diego Zuger, co-CEO of Swiss-Ski, in a statement. “We will continue to fully meet our obligations and feel strengthened in our belief that we can bring the negotiations to a good conclusion.”

Accusations from the FIS

On Friday evening, during the World Cup races in Crans-Montana, the FIS, based on research by the NZZ published a statement stating that Swiss-Ski did not want to fulfill the contractual obligations made in the application dossier.

This refers to the financial guarantees provided by the federal government, the canton of Valais and the Crans-Montana municipal association when the candidacy was announced. Swiss-Ski immediately rejected the accusation and complained that various allegations “simply do not correspond to the truth”.
