The Ebenthal elementary school in the Klagenfurt-Land district had to be closed on Wednesday due to corona. 15 students from different classes and six teachers tested positive for the corona virus.
It is the first corona-related closure of a Carinthian school this year. The students are switching to distance learning today, Thursday. The autumn holidays start from the weekend anyway. According to the Education Directorate, operations should then run back to normal.
A total of 113 new infections were reported by the state of Carinthia on Wednesday. 66 people are hospitalized, 49 of them inpatient (26 of them fully vaccinated) and 17 intensive (four of them are fully vaccinated).
