Leverkusen defended their lead in the Bundesliga in extremis. The “Werkself” rewarded themselves for their considerable effort in the top game against Bayern with a 2-2 draw in the 94th minute. Exequiel Palacios took advantage of a foul penalty that was only given after VAR consultation.

After Leon Goretzka’s goal in the 86th minute, Bayern seemed to have all the advantages in their hands. A victory for the series champion would have been undeserved. Because Leverkusen had the better chances beforehand. Florian Wirtz only hit the post in the 78th minute, Victor Boniface sinned several times in the end.

Kane with the early lead

The Munich team immediately took the reins in their home arena and took the lead in the 7th minute after a corner kick. Granit Xhaka lost sight of his opponent Harry Kane at the second post, who didn’t miss the chance.

The guests equalized 1-1 in the 24th minute thanks to a dream free kick from defender Alejandro Grimaldo.
