It was a contentious scene that earned Servette a point in the tourbillon: Enzo Crivelli headed in a cross from Gaël Clichy to Miroslav Stevanovic, who went forgotten on the right side of the box. The Bosnian sunk the ball dryly into the far corner to make it 2-2.
Only: Stevanovic was far ahead when Crivelli’s header was extended, the repetitions suggest a possible offside position. However, it is not obvious. For referee Sven Wolfensberger there was not enough evidence to annul the goal.
Hot scene in the Sion penalty area
The equalizer gave Geneva new courage. Substitute striker Chris Bedia moved down the right flank into the opponent’s penalty area in the 77th minute and started a flick from there. With a brilliant act, Heinz Lindner plucked the ball out of the corner and held the point for his team.
As a result, the Sion keeper was no longer really challenged. Shortly before the end, the “Grenat” almost got a chance to win. Bedia went down in the Sion penalty area after a duel with Denis-Will Poha. Wolfensberger let it continue, and the VAR did not intervene as a result. So it remained at the performance-based 2:2 in Valais.
Sion turn by 2 standards
Previously, Sion had turned a 0-1 deficit into a 2-1. A foul by Nicolas Vouilloz in his own penalty area took the wind out of Geneva’s sails in the first half. After a rare Sittener counterattack, he was late with a tackle on Abdel Zagré and owed a penalty. Anto Grgic effortlessly missed Servette goalie Jérémy Frick and equalized to make it 1-1 – in the 25th game Grgic finally scored his first goal of the season.
In the 56th minute, Itaitinga made the turn with a powerful header. After a free kick from Reto Ziegler, the Brazilian climbed the highest in the penalty area and didn’t give Frick a chance.

The Servettiens had mostly had the events under control until the Sitten equalizer. Patrick Plücke found fellow player Miroslav Stevanovic in the 23rd minute, who only hit the crossbar with his direct shot and the subsequent header. Enzo Crivelli then knew how to use the rebound to give Geneva a deserved lead.
