Three young people in several Carinthian communities have used a car without authorization, tried to break into countless cigarette vending machines, stolen a pocket bike and caused enormous damage. Eventually they caught the police.
In the night from January 4th to 5th, three young people (16, 16, 17) from Klagenfurt and Klagenfurt-Land used the car of a company in Kirschentheuer, municipality of Ferlach, without authorization. They then installed two license plates that they had previously stolen from another vehicle. They took the car for a spin several times. But that was not all.The young people wanted to break into countless cigarette machinesThe young people roamed through several Carinthian communities and tried to break into all the cigarette machines in Ferndorf, Feffernitz, St. Jakob im Rosental, Ferlach, Glainach and Villach – but all these attempts failed because that wasn’t enough for them either, the young perpetrators broke into a sales kiosk in Ferlach and stole various inventory and sweets from it. They stole a pocket bike from another shop. Then one of the three police officers went online. After trying to break open a cigarette machine in Glainach, one of the perpetrators was finally stopped. This led the police to the other two boys. They could be charged with a total of 24 crimes, the police announced. The young people will be reported to the Klagenfurt public prosecutor’s office after the investigation has been completed. According to investigators, the damage could amount to several thousand euros. Further surveys are ongoing.
