The 24 hours of Le Mans begin on Saturday June 16, for a 92nd edition. The French endurance race, arguably the most famous, is watched around the world and will be sold out for the second year in a row.

186 drivers will battle it out with prestigious names like Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button at the wheel of a Porsche. Former Formula 1 driver, German Mick Schumacher, son of the legend Michael, will also be present for a first, with Alpine.

Romain Grosjean, “very happy to be there”

Four years after his serious accident, which marked the end of his career in Formula 1, Romain Grosjean is also making his return to a French circuit. He spoke to Eurosport, explaining that this participation was close to his heart: “I really wanted to get back into endurance, I had done it a little in 2010. I am very happy to be there and I hope that we will have a good race. We will work as best as we can. Afterwards, I think that the number one objective is to see the flag at the finish.

The multiple Italian Moto GP champion, Valentino Rossi, has converted to a racing driver and is tackling the 24 hours with the hope of climbing among the best. On the sporting side, it is the number six Porsche of Frenchman Kevin Strand which will start in first position after having beaten the two Cadillacs, including that of Frenchman Sébastien Bourdais, the child of Le Mans.

Ferrari, Porsche and even the revengers of Toyota seem above the rest for the final victory, with a certain Zinédine Zidane to launch the most prestigious car race on Saturday at 4 p.m.
