This huge bear was photographed Tuesday evening near the Schafalm Brandenberg by a wildlife camera from the local hunters’ association. Particularly dramatic: 27 sheep are missing in the area, although a shepherd was present. “We search and search, but do not find any carcasses,” says sheep farmer Christoph Mühlegger to “Krone”: “The bear leaves nothing.” It may even be two. Now the farmers are also worried about a nearby herd of cattle. “The predators are getting closer and closer to the settlement area,” says Mühlegger.
