(Boursier.com) — 2CRSi Canada deploys a set of Edge-Computing servers in public buildings to reuse heat to replace fossil fuel heating.

Since 2015, 2CRSi has worked to design innovative solutions to reuse the energy wasted as heat by computer servers. This research and development is at the center of the challenges of integrating and deploying artificial intelligence in data centers, where components generating a lot of heat are necessary to provide the required computing power. The 2CRSi teams have just deployed, in Quebec, its ‘EDGE’ solution, the heat of which is reused to heat a public building during the winter, but whose operation is also planned for the summer. The cooling systems of this facility are connected to the heating system which previously used fossil fuels such as gas or oil. From now on, the heat produced by this computing center helps to heat these places.

The 2CRSi solution is powered by electricity with a very low carbon impact. With its local partner, 2CRSI accesses a new market worth more than 300 million Canadian dollars (approximately 205 ME).
