2G and Co – Burgenlanders are very disciplined when it comes to new rules

Day one of the new nationwide tightened corona rules. The “Krone” went to the local inspection. The Burgenlanders adhered to the regulations in an exemplary manner almost everywhere.

The corona numbers are exploding and – what is even more dramatic – the hospitals are reaching their limits. Across Austria, 75 percent of corona intensive care patients are not vaccinated. Therefore, the government decided nationwide uniformly strict rules that also apply to Burgenland, although the situation in our country is fortunately quite stable thanks to a high vaccination rate. Since Monday, FFP2 masks have to be worn in all shops. During the “Krone” local inspection in hardware stores in Eisenstadt and Mattersburg, almost all customers adhered to the new rule. Negative: At a car accessories store in Mattersburg, maskless customers also went in and out, the staff did not intervene.

If you want to enjoy your schnitzel, you have to be vaccinated or have recovered. While some Viennese innkeepers complain about it, this is not a problem in Burgenland: “We monitor it closely and therefore don’t have fewer guests,” says Karin Lehner from the Haydnbräu in Eisenstadt.
