Motorola does not hide its ambitions in the smartphone market, but is also interested in that of tablets. With the Moto Tab G70, the firm is targeting the mid-range.

As you may have discovered in our Edge 20 and Edge 20 Pro reviews, Motorola’s new product line is convincing despite fierce competition. Aware of the new craze surrounding the tablet market, the firm is also positioning itself there. After recently unveiling an entry-level model, the Moto Tab G20, the manufacturer is preparing to launch a slightly more ambitious tablet, dubbed the Moto Tab G70.

First intended for the Indian market, which has never prevented a product from arriving in Europe thereafter, this reference is very much inspired by the Lenovo Tab P11 Plus. It is therefore a mid-range device with serious advantages, which should be offered at a competitive price.

The tablet has an 11-inch 2K (2000 x 1200px) 60Hz LCD display. Brightness should be limited to 400 nits, which isn’t huge, but enough for indoor use.

With dimensions of 258.4 x 163 x 7.5 mm, its aluminum finishes and a weight of 490 g, it remains easily transportable. We also note an IP52 certification to withstand light splashes. We also appreciate the presence of four Dolby Atmos compatible speakers to improve the video experience.

Under this panel, there is a MediaTek Helio G90T SoC engraved in 12 nm and equipped with a Mali G76 GPU. The chip is paired with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage up to 1 TB via microSD. On the connectivity side, the user will be entitled to wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. A wifi + 4G version should be available and a specific port will allow you to connect a keyboard.

The tablet offers a 13 Mpx sensor on the back and a second 8 Mpx on the front for videoconferencing. Not enough to raise high expectations, but the setup will help out for a few quick shots. Autonomy is finally provided by a 7700 mAh battery compatible with fast charging at 20 W. The whole runs on Android 11 and the My UX overlay, particularly refined.

The price of the Tab G70 has not yet been released, but it should be quite close to that of the P11 Plus, around € 300.
