2nd league – next clear Wacker win, Lustenau loses

Wacker Innsbruck clinched the second clear victory in the second game under his new coach Masaki Morass. The Tyroleans celebrated a 5-1 home win over Juniors Upper Austria in the twelfth round of the 2nd soccer league on Friday. There were also successes in front of their own audience for Amstetten with a 2-0 win against the Young Violets and for the FAC with a 3-0 win over SV Horn. Lafnitz prevailed 3-1 at Vorwärts Steyr. Austria Lustenau received their second defeat of the season in the evening. The front runner had to admit defeat to the new runners-up Blau Weiß Linz 0: 1 in front of their own audience and is only four points ahead of the Upper Austrians.

The hit of the twelfth round remained in Lustenau without any major highlights for a long time. Linz recorded the more dangerous scenes even before the break, the decisive situation followed in the 79th minute. After a cross from Emmanuel Acheampong, Matthias Seidl put the ball in the net with an acrobatic interlude. So ended the successful run of the Lustenauer, who had all won their previous seven games. For Blau Weiß it was the fourth success en suite.

At Innsbruck Tivoli, the home side quickly ensured clear conditions – Ronivaldo (24th), Atsushi Zaizen (26th) and Marco Holz (28th) made it 3-0 within four minutes, at the latest with the second goal by Ronivaldo shortly before the break (45 + 2) the game was decided. The Juniors scored the honorary goal with a penalty from Keito Nakamura (53.) after the break, before Rami Takir also struck with a penalty (83.). The Tyroleans, who won 3-0 at Rapid II the previous week, are still fifth in the table.

Immediately behind are Amstetten and FAC with equal points. The Lower Austrians kept the upper hand 2-0 at home against the young Austrians, whose average age of the starting lineup was 19 years and 256 days. Philipp Schellnegger (64th) and Stefan Holiday (76th) scored the goals of the Amstetten. For the FAC, Joao Oliveira (20th), Flavio (46th) and Anthony Schmid (58th / penalty) scored against Horn. Slobodan Mihajlovic saw the home side get a red card in the 80th minute.

With the victory in Steyr, Lafnitz moved into third place for at least a few hours. Mario Kröpfl (14th, 42nd / Elfer) and Thorsten Schriebl (60th) scored for the Styrians, while Michael Martin (8th) was not enough for the hosts to lead the bottom light. Steyr holds after twelve games with a win, a draw and ten defeats.
