Aarau (Challenge League) – Basel 1:3 aet

Only one team was ready for this game: FC Aarau. The eleven from the Challenge League had chances early on, Shkelqim Vladi (3rd) and Valon Fazliu (8th) missed. Then, in the 10th minute, the first goal, which was fair in terms of performance: After Michael Lang lost the ball, it was Fazliu who netted. As a result, Basel had a lot of possession and chances were scarce until FCB shifted up a gear after half an hour. After Jean-Kévin Augustin only hit the crossbar (35th), he did better 3 minutes before the break and converted a hand penalty. Up until extra time, Aarau was again the team that created better chances. Lang’s header on the 2nd post after a corner (94th) meant that the Aargauers had nothing more to add. Except for 2 sending offs from Allen Njie and Bastien Conus. Dan Ndoye made it 3-1 for the final point (119th).

Breitenrain (Promotion League) – Lugano 0:4

In the first half the class difference between Breitenrain and Lugano was not visible. The well-organized promotion league kept up with the defending champion. Boris Babic, who had to make it 1-0 in the 36th minute, had the greatest chance for Lugano – but Breitenrain defender Loris Lüthi cleared the ball for his keeper who had been beaten. Only in the second round did the Ticino show their class. Babic scored the lead shortly after the break, Ignacio Aliseda twice (70′ and 89′) and Mohamed Amoura (86′) ultimately ensured the clear final result.
