For a long time it seemed as if a bright future awaited “Game of Thrones” showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss after the end of the hit HBO series. But their reputation also suffered from the negative feedback on the last GoT season and their planned “Star Wars” films were never realized.
Nevertheless, after several fantasy-heavy years, Benioff and Weiss are now trying their hand at the science fiction genre. The first season of the new Netflix series “3 Body Problem” awaits us on March 21, 2024 and in the first trailer we meet several familiar faces from “Game of Thrones”.
Race against time
A series of murdered scientists is just the beginning of an epic science fiction story that leads into the past, the future and other worlds. In order for Netflix to adapt Liu Cixin’s entire “Trisolaris” trilogy, at least three seasons would probably be necessary, but the streaming service makes a sequel dependent on the success of the first season.
All 8 episodes of the first season of “3 Body Problem” will start on Netflix on March 21, 2024. A month later, things continue to be exciting when “Rebel Moon: Part 2 – The Scar Maker” appears on the streaming service.
