3 mother-daughter series to watch this weekend

The relations between mother and daughter are not always rosy and certain series manage to portray these family relations with finesse. It deserves a little binge-watching this weekend, doesn't it?

Ginny & Georgia is one of the most watched series right now on Netflix. While the TV show disappointed us on some points, the treatment of Georgia's relationship with her daughter is fair. In the series, the relationship between mother and daughter is explored often and in many ways. Whether through sitcoms or drama series, the relationship to motherhood is indeed present in pop culture.

"Ginny & Georgia": young mother and teen in crisis

It’s the hottest show right now and it has made a few jump… Even singer Taylor Swift! If in writing, we regret some disappointing passages, it is clear that Ginny & Georgia delicately tackles the complicated relationship between a mother and her daughter … Georgia is mystery embodied. Ginny feels like she doesn't know her mother and her past well enough. To top it off, it's berezina in her head: she's 15 years old and the teenage crisis is playing hell on her. First of all, the series tells a singular and frightening story at the same time: a mother has always made her daughter believe that she is seriously ill – this is called Münchhausen syndrome. Worse yet, this miniseries is based on a true story … If you've never heard of it, we obviously won't tell you the ending. Be careful though, we warn you: this story is very gloomy and we contemplate a totally toxic relationship between a mother and her daughter. The actresses, Joey King and Patricia Arquette, are amazing there. This miniseries is available on Prime Video.
