fun, news, tips… what else?

Among the most successful films of this beginning of the year 2022, there is “Presque”, directed by Bernard Campan and Alexandre Jollien. A story of friendship, but not only. What a good way to start the year!

If Igor, interpreted by Alexandre Jollien, feels overprotected by his mother because of his handicap, he lives his life at 100 per hour. Deeply optimistic and a philosopher at heart, this organic basket delivery man has no use for other people’s eyes. Louis, played by Bernard Campan, for his part, is a man who has succeeded in everything… Apparently! This undertaker, somewhat extinct and suffocated by the vagaries of life, will cross paths with Igor. If, at first sight, everything opposes them, the improvised road trip that they will undertake in the south of France will teach them to tame each other, but especially to consider the common points which bind them .

Almost is a film about friendship. It’s a touching and unexpected ‘bromance’. But it is also a reflection on the gaze of others and an ingenious pretext to give voice to those who do not have it.

Bernard Campan and Alexandre Jollien form an impeccable duo

Almost is above all supported by two major players. Bernard Campan pairs up with Alexandre Jollien. The issues and questions of their respective characters are, in the end, not so different. They thus embody a friendship that unites them wonderfully on screen. Moreover, this collaboration works as well because it is not the first time that Bernard Campan and Alexandre Jollien have worked together. In 2007, the latter co-wrote the screenplay for the feature film The Hidden Face, directed by Bernard Campan.

“Almost” is co-written by someone concerned with the subject

Yes Almost was therefore an opportunity for these two friends to collaborate again together, the duo seizes, this time, a story that echoes, from afar, the philosopher Alexandre Jollien. Further proof that including people affected by social issues in the creative process brings added value to a work, making Almost an authentic film in which the subject of disability is treated with accuracy.

The film “Almost” sends waltzing all the clichés

The feature film directed by Bernard Campan thus sends to waltz all the ideas received on the handicap. Almost makes invisible people visible in our society. From the gaze of others, to sexuality via the quest for emancipation… For Igor, as for Louis moreover, this film is an ode to letting go, a breath of fresh air from which the seventh art should take from the seed.

Almost, directed by Bernard Campan and co-written with Alexandre Jollien, will be released in theaters on Wednesday January 26, 2022.
