Do you know that feeling when you’ve found the perfect look and then the end of the season throws a spanner in the works? The good thing is that some fashion trends are more long-lasting than expected and can also be easily implemented with autumnal styles. How? We’ll tell you here!

It won’t be long until the official start of autumn on September 23, 2023. Although the weather currently gives hope for a warm Indian summer, you always have to be prepared for bad weather in the late summer days. Nevertheless, we don’t have to say goodbye to our beloved ones yet Summer trends separate – at least not from all of them. There are three fashion hypes that are worth taking with us into the next season.

In vs. out – two-piece suits remain, shorts have a break

In summer, no one could ignore the monochrome pajama-style two-piece suits. That doesn’t change much in the fall either. However, the pants are longer and the fabrics are thicker. No need for shorts, in autumn we wear wide fabric or denim trousers, which we combine with either an oversized shirt in a matching color or, on fancier occasions, with a vest. The French fashionista Anouk Yve shows how it’s done: She wears the popular twin set in suit style. On cold days, the matching blazer can be combined with it, because if it looks good twice, a third piece won’t do any harm.

The 2000s just won’t let us go

A horror for some, a true fashion wonderland for Gen Z: The Y2K trend is bringing back the fashion of the 00s. Top models like Bella Hadid and Emily Ratajkowski in particular are fans of low-waist pants, bucket hats and crop tops. Especially in summer, wide and low-slung baggy pants have replaced the usual skinny jeans. Both designers and street style artists agree: wide pants are here to stay. If you can’t get used to low-slung trousers and prefer high-waisted cuts, oversized blouses or bomber jackets can help in autumn. Because in now is what is wide and comfortable.

Hole knit replaces mesh

Semi-transparent mesh has been on the rise since the beginning of the year. The grid-like fabric has mainly given us air-permeable and refreshing dresses or tops, which is of course a bit too cold in autumn. Luckily, knitwear is on the rise again, especially in the mid-season, and has an elegant open-knit pattern. This visually continues the mesh trend, but in a sensible way. Midi dresses, long cardigans and sweaters in particular are at the top of our wish list. Simply add a pair of trousers and a pair of loafers – and we look as stylish as Elise.
