After touring festivals and ceremonies, spencer is finally available on Prime Video. The film is an immersive account of the later phase of Princess Diana’s marriage to Prince Charles. Kristen Stewart felt Lady Diana’s presence on set
By playing Diana Spencer, Kristen Stewart felt a lot of pressure and we understand it. She was so invested in this role that she confided to feeling the presence of the late princess on the set of the film. In an interview with Los Angeles Times, she said: “I didn’t have a paranormal encounter. But I had scary and spiritual feelings while making this film. Even though I was just fantasizing. (…) It’s scary to tell a story about someone who is no longer alive and once felt so invaded,” the Twilight actress shares. “I never meant to feel like I was invading anything, just to add to the multiplicity of a beautiful thing.” A creepy atmosphere!

Spencer’s director is a regular at biopics
This is not the first time that director Pablo Larraín has looked into the experience of a prominent female personality in history. In 2016, he directed Jackie, a film that focused on the experience of Jackie Kennedy and the impact of the death of her husband John F. Kennedy in 1963. The female gaze and trauma are themes that are of great interest to the director. At the time, Nathalie Portman was given the role of Jackie Kennedy. A sizeable bet that the actress had nevertheless taken up brilliantly by collaborating with this director.

Spencer marks Kristen Stewart’s first Golden Globes nomination
