  • Thanks to their 3rd win in the 3rd game of the playoff final, the Kadetten Schaffhausen win the Swiss championship title against Scout Winterthur.
  • The decisive game in Schaffhausen ends 29:26.
  • For the cadets, who replace scouts as champions, it is the 12th championship title.

The Kadetten Schaffhausen crowned themselves Swiss handball champions with a rarely seen dominance. Already in the qualification nobody could hold a candle to them with 46 points and thus 13 points ahead of the second-placed scout Winterthur.

They also remained flawless in the playoffs, apart from one slip in the quarter-finals against BSV Bern. In the final against Winterthur they won first with 11, then with 8 and finally with 3 goals.

Scout eases up before the break

In the decisive 3rd game, the cadets made the difference shortly before the half-time break. The guests from Winterthur began to make their own mistakes and increasingly struggled with referee decisions. In the 23rd minute it was still 9:9, 5 minutes later the scoreboard showed 12:9. The cadets finally went into the break with a 16:10 lead.

The hosts did not give up the lead as a result. It got the closest just before the end: In the 58th minute, Pfadi closed the gap to 26:28. But it shouldn’t be enough anymore. The Winterthur team, who became Swiss champions last year, have to put up with the accusation that they underperformed away from home. In the entire playoffs, no away win could be achieved. So also in the decisive 3rd playoff final game.
