31-year-old becomes Minister of State: SPD makes nine women State Secretaries

The fact that there are more men than women in Olaf Scholz’s cabinet, including the Chancellor, has met with criticism. On the ntv.de exclusive list of state secretaries and ministers from the SPD, on the other hand, there are more women and one in three is from the East.

The Social Democrats have completed the list of their parliamentary state secretaries and ministers. Mahmut Özdemir from Duisburg is to become State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of the Interior under Nancy Faeser. The third minister of state of the SPD will be Sarah Ryglewski, who will coordinate federal-state relations at the age of 38. A total of five men and women on the list are under 40 years of age. This also includes Siemtje Möller: The defense politician from the constituency of Friesland / Wilhelmshaven / Wittmund goes to the Ministry of Defense headed by Christine Lambrecht, together with Thomas Hitschler from the Palatinate. Both are 38 years old.
