310 kilometers – walking across the country with your cell phone in your luggage

Filmmaker Kristina Schranz hiked the Bernstein Trail for 20 days. The result: the first cell phone film for the ORF. The film “On the Road” will be available from mid-April.

Kristina Schranz began her journey on the Bernstein Trail reduced to the essentials. Your most important tool: your cell phone. With it, the Oberwart filmmaker made the first film made exclusively with her cell phone, “On the Way on the Bernstein Trail”. The 32-year-old spent almost a month on the road for 20 days on the historical paths of the so-called old Bernstein Road, the 310 kilometers from Carnuntum to St. Martin an der Raab leads, on the way. Schranz had the idea for her extraordinary trip a few months ago. “I wanted to do something alone in nature and that’s when I came across the Bernstein Trail,” says Schranz in her plea for traveling on the doorstep. The film “On the Road on the Bernstein Trail” will be broadcast on April 14th on ORF2. “Find each other again” In her film she wants to convey that it is worth approaching people and discovering new things. “I want to express positive things and it’s also a lot about togetherness. “People need to find each other again, especially at a time like now,” says Schranz. Sun and a lot of heart What she also discovered on her trip: The Oberwart resident smiles that Burgenland is not just made up of freight routes. “I experienced a sunrise on Lake Neusiedl that was almost unbeatable in terms of beauty.” Especially the warmth of the people Schranz met on her trip.
