Now 43 years old, what becomes of the interpreter of the young and mischievous Kevin McCallister, hero of the family comedy “Mom, I missed the plane” in the early 90s?
Every Christmas, for more than 30 years, it almost systematically returns to occupy our television screens. While the avenues are adorned with garlands and the gifts are delicately placed under the tree, the young Kevin McCallister, unfortunately forgotten by his parents at the family home, takes pleasure in placing traps in all the rooms in order to protect his house against two evil burglars.
But if Kevin returns to wish happy holidays to his fans almost every year, what about his interpreter? Today aged 43, what has become of Macaulay Culkin after having lent his features to the young hero of Mom, I missed the plane?
Propelled to the rank of child-star of world renown from the age of 10 thanks to the film by Chris Columbus (he had previously held a few small roles, and in particular opposite Burt Lancaster in The Rock of Gibraltar), Macaulay Culkin retains his status and success for several years, and continues with major projects.
We can thus see him embody the protagonist of Richard in the land of magic books, play in the clip Black or White of Michael Jackson, to interpret the young Thomas in the overwhelming My Girl, and to return to service as Kevin McCallister in Mom, I still missed the plane.

All these roles (and in particular My Girl for which he would have been paid a million dollars) allow him to amass a veritable small fortune and even to become the highest paid child star of all time. A situation that quickly created tension and a separation between his two parents, from which he finally emancipated himself in 1995, at the age of 14.
At this same period, Macaulay Culkin decides to interrupt his acting career, and observes a long break that will last ten years. Absent from film sets, the child star continues to be talked about occasionally in the columns of the celebrity press, which relays his addiction problems and his financial setbacks.
If Macaulay Culkin has never yet regained the popularity of his childhood, he has, from the mid-2000s, started a few timid reappearances on the big and small screen. We were able to see him appear in an episode of the series Will & Grace, in season 1 of Kings, and more recently interpret the very eccentric Mickey in season 10 of American Horror Story.

Even rarer in the cinema than in the series, he did not even offer himself a cameo in the sequel / remake of Mom, I missed the plane released in 2021 on Disney +, and in which we learned that Kevin McCallister was became head of a company specializing in home alarms.
After sharing the life of actress Mila Kunis for 8 years, Macaulay Culkin is now in a relationship with actress Brenda Song, and father of two children.
