365 days on Netflix: simulated sex scenes… or not? The actor responds

As criticized as watched, the film “365 days: The next day” on Netflix continues to make people talk. One of the reasons? Its many steamy – and often improbable – scenes. Simulated or played? Michele Morrone responds.

They exasperate as much as they fascinate. The 365 Days films do not shine with their cinematic qualities. They nevertheless arouse the interest of the public to the point of monopolizing the first places in the Netflix ranking.

Between romance – which has nothing romantic about it – and chic porn, the second part, 365 days: The next day, offers torrid scenes bordering on the ridiculous – evidenced by a strange golf game sequence.

As with the first film, many viewers wonder whether or not the acting duo fakes the intimate moments in front of the camera. The main star, Michele Morrone – who plays the mobster Massimo -, even comes to silence rumors during a live session on his Instagram account:

It seems real because we are good actors. We know how to pretend. None of this is true. Many people write to me saying: ‘My God, it was real!’. But it wasn’t.”

Naturalness, authenticity, without ever crossing the limit of pornography.

In an interview published by Variety on the occasion of the release of the first film, Bartek Cierlica, director of photography explains behind the scenes: “We wanted the camera to be as invisible as possible, let them play, so the takes are very, very long. We wanted to create the most intimate atmosphere for the actors.”

The presence of the teams is reduced to a minimum on the set. (…) Our objective is that the public can hear their whispers, their breathing and we wanted to show the sweat, the passion. Naturalness, authenticity, without ever crossing the limit of pornography.”

On the intensity of its sequences and the fidelity to the original novels, he continues: “We didn’t want to do porn, but at the same time, we want to do justice to books that depict very passionate and intimate sexual moments.

I knew that as a cinematographer, I was walking on eggshells. Here the challenge was twofold: how to make a scene seductive and erotic within the limits of good taste and my style.“For good taste, everything is relative.
